A Wedding Dress Fit for a Winter Rose...

 For his Rose to bloom

 Holly waits every year.

He waits for her to find

 The heart she left behind

He prays she'll find her way

To be his bride someday.

_Tori Amos,
“Ivy, Holly, and Rose”

"The sleeveless dress was a deep red velvet, its straight strapless neckline fringed in narrow silver filigree lace scooping low in the back. The curve hugging bodice clung to mid-thigh, the skirt flaring wide with an inverted V in the back, revealing a pure white lace underskirt that trailed along the floor. The empire waistline was accentuated by a delicate patterned belt of snowflakes, embroidered in silver thread and dotted with Swarovski crystals. Another lace-like embroidered band separated the flared skirt from the sheath dress, with a larger, more ornate pattern above the point of the inverted V. A long sleeved shrug*, the same blood red, yet in lace, completed the look, the form-fitting lace trailing down to taper over the hands to end in a slip-thru middle finger slit. "

*The long sleeved shrug has been redesigned as a white fur hugger by Mrs. Fetters.

Watch for the wedding of the year (at least in my little world and that of Skriker and Rose fans) in the upcoming holiday tale GHOSTS OF WINTER, coming on November 24th 2011 from Rebel Rose Publishing, LLC.

  4. Oh, there shall be a few lovely paintings! I just have to get sketches with the designer's stamp of approval before we go all out! I actually plan to use the painting on my holiday cards this year. :-)

Jeez, did I say "Mrs"??? I'm turning us all into our mothers...try being preggers! You'll look in the mirror every day and cry with your 24-inch-waist and once-hard abs buried beneath 25 extra lbs of fluid, blood, uterus, fat, and squirming offspring, wondering "Will I EVER GET IT BACK???"! LOL.
